The case of the "Tor des géants" ultra trail
The metabolic adaptations of athletes who ran the Tor des Géants (340km, 24km elevation gain) were monitored during the race by analyzing the individuals' metabolomes in plasma and red blood cells. The aim was to identify the key biological adaptations enabling athletes to overcome intense endurance stress, and particularly those associated with the best performances.
