In vivo animal and human MRI

Located between the Faculty of Medicine and the Timone Hospital in Marseille, the "MRI in vivo" platform develops and applies nuclear magnetic resonance instruments and methods for morphological, metabolic and functional exploration of the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular and central nervous systems in animals and humans. The platform also conducts instrumental and methodological development projects applied to MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) and MRS (magnetic resonance spectrometry).

Our R&D offer

Preclinical & clinical MRI study

Morphological, metabolic and functional MRS and MRI studies of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), cardiovascular system (heart and aorta) and musculoskeletal system (muscle, cartilage and bone) in animals and humans.

Development or validation by MRI and MRS of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies applied to a wide range of pathologies (cancers, liver diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, etc.).

Support for instrumental and methodological development of MRI or MRS: creation of dedicated antennas, physiological monitoring accessories or ergometers compatible with magnetic fields, development of new acquisition sequences, protocols, new image processing software, etc.
