The LIS has more than 375 members and undertakes basic and applied research in the fields of Computer Science, Automation, Signal and Image. It's 20 research teams make up four groups: Computation - Data Sciences - Systems Analysis and Control - Signal and Image. Research is aimed at applications in fields as diverse as transport, health, energy, the environment, defense, among others.
